Evaluations

Evalu’action, a participatory organizational diagnosis

CDE, together with Kea & Partners, a business consulting firm, worked out the Evalu’action model (evaluation and action plan) for an efficient and sustainable project, which measures the capacities of an organization according to 9 axes covering 3 fields : what the project is, how it works and the way it interacts with its environment.

Since becoming aware is the first step toward change, the Evalu’action makes it possible to co-construct an evaluation approach, together with the evaluated partner, to carry it out, to find action plans and to organize the implementation process for recommended actions. Evalu’action constitutes a tool for CDE to help the organization start a change. It makes it possible to assess the present situation and to build the target to be reached while identifying the actions to be taken according to the 9 axes.

CDE follows this approach for its own projects but also does it upon request of other NGOs for their projects.

Impact assessment

CDE worked out a survey measuring the impact of our actions on the greater well-being of our beneficiaries and its development.

The impact assessment proceeds according to 4 stages : definition of the protocol, data collection through interviews, data analysis and presentation of preliminary report to partner, publication of evaluation report.

The survey starts before the project, then proceeds one year after its implementation and later once every two years, questionnaires are sent to children, their families, teachers, leaders, as well as to the team of the partner organization. Samples are constituted, representing each of those groups. Once the questionnaires filled out, it will be possible to measure the “level” of self-sufficiency, creativity, self-confidence…of each child.

One year after the project implementation, the same questions are asked again, which enables to compare with the situation at the beginning and thus to measure each child’s development. The final target is to get a detailed record for each child with his/her questionnaire, as well as for their parents and teachers.

The children’s progresses will be brought out in a diagram underlining visually the development of his/her level of socialization, self-sufficiency…
